BioBorn in California, raised the youngest of four children to an Italian born father, and true American mother. Grew up with my best friend by my side (noted at DP). We graduated from HS in '86, and went to Annapolis. Completed a ten year stint in the Navy. While theere, we met our now boss, Admiral Sandecker who started a research and recovery operation known as NUMA, National Underwater Marine Agency. After scuttling out of the Navy, my friend, DP, and I joined on with the now retired Adirmal to recover artifacts from the ocean floor. In my spare time I help restore classic cars when we are home and help maintain the working systems on the ship while out at sea.

Name of character: Al Giordino

Fandom character originates from: Sahara (the movie not the books as much .. I'm creating a lot of back fill, and a ship between Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino)
Were you referred here by a current player? And if so, who? Don't know if she is a member, it was being pimped at 60_minute_fics, thought I'd see what and try this. never hurts.
About your character (approx. 250 words): Al is Dirks best friend, and in my opnion, Dirk's back bone. In the movie, Dirk saves the girl, while Al takes on the harder job, saving the world. Dirk referes to Al as the "Wife" and the two work like they are two parts of one. They are considerate of each other. They are close, so close that Dirk knows he can't live without Al. They did the Navy for their love of the sea, did the Seals for adventure, but pulled out when the cost was to high. Now they work for their love, adventure of the past. Dirk plays with his cars and history, while Al does a little of this and that. He wants to explore more for his relationship with Dirk, to try new ~experiences~ hence being at lj.
